My Story

I started making soap ten years ago in my girlfriend's kitchen. Janan taught me the basics of soap making, and together we made many batches of soap which we primarily used for ourselves, but also shared with friends, family, and our community. It was in her kitchen that the seeds for my ongoing love of this craft were planted.

During the home-bound days of the pandemic, I was approached by a friend to sell my soap for personal gifts, as well as to sell in her salon. My initial reluctance was tempered by a skiing injury that proved to be a blessing in disguise. Immersion into the colors, scents, and textures of soap-making became an unexpected part of the long recovery process. I discovered my love for making soap had become more than a hobby; it was a source of fulfillment that I wanted to share.

Ravine Trail is a well-loved hiking, running and mountain biking trail near my home. The name Ravine Soap Company emerged from supportive, encouraging, and inspirational friends who laughed, listened, and deeply breathed with me on this therapeutic mountain trail in Missoula, Montana.

I am a mom, nurse, wife and soap-maker, often chaotically juggling all roles simultaneously.
